To utilize the training tools and modules that are available online employees will need to enter their ID Number and last name on the portal sign in page. Once this information is entered users will be able to make their course selections from the huge catalog of training topics and start their online learning. Learning is done at your own pace or unless your supervisor has given you a time limit on when they expect your training to be completed.
For employees preparing to start a training course please understand that all of the material is written at a 6th grade level which means you shouldn’t have any trouble understanding or comprehending. If you don’t speak good English then consider utilizing the Spanish version which every course has as an alternative.
Some of the courses that are covered in the online training are on topics such as dealing with patients who have Alzheimer’s and Dementia. These are illnesses that require special care so you will get a thorough review of how to specifically care for these types of patients. You will also notice courses on dealing with medication, long term care, and other important topics that you will need to learn about.
Once you have successfully completed your training your supervisor and facility management will know you are fully capable of meeting the needs of the elderly.
